On February 10, People Magazine’s Michelle Tauber highlighted the first celebrity ambassador for “Prince Harry’s Invictus Games” 2016 for Our Wounded Warriors taking place at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex and Walt Disney World® Resort from May 8 – 12, 2016.  People highlights “Welsh singer and Dancing with the Stars alum Katherine Jenkins has been named as an official ambassador of the Games”.

“Supporting the men, women and families who serve our country has always been important in my life,” Jenkins said in a statement. “I look forward to celebrating and honoring the sacrifices of veteran and active duty service members and their families from around the world in May.”
On February 11, 2016, the Invictus Games organizing committee announced the schedule of competition.  Nearly 30 sessions of sport will take place over eight days, with more than 500 competitors from 15 nations expected to compete

The word “Invictus” means “unconquered.” It embodies the fighting spirit of the wounded, ill, and injured Service members and what these tenacious men and women can achieve, post injury. The Games harness the power of sport to inspire recovery, support rehabilitation and generate a wider understanding and respect for those whom serve their countries.  Click on the following link to read  ‘INVICTUS’ – A Poem by William Ernest Henley.
