The Three Shades of Victory: Bronze, Silver and Gold

The Three Shades of Victory: Bronze, Silver and Gold

Today, hundreds of hopefuls competed in the finals for Powerlifting, Cycling, Rowing and Archery with two goals in mind – make their countries proud and take the gold. As fans traveled from venue to venue, they witnessed firsthand the strength, valor and courage of these men and women as they fought on the Invictus battlefield representing their countries, their families and their biggest coach – themselves.

Today was the only day that every sporting event had medals on the line, and with 106 medals at stake, the competitors outperformed themselves, proving to millions across the world that they are unconquered. After an action-packed day, competitors from 11 countries garnished their necks with the three shades of victory – bronze, silver and gold.

UK and U.S. lead the way but Canada and France performed strong with 10 medals each; Australia, Estonia, Denmark and Italy each earned 4 and New Zealand and Netherlands took 3 medals.

As we look forward to three more days of competition, fans wonder whether the U.S. can get revenge for the sweeping defeats dealt by the UK in 2014 or if we’ll see an up and coming team – like Denmark, who took two of three bronze team medals in London – steal the show. The question remains – who will ultimately win the gold?
