Stars of Stage, Screen, Song and Sport set to rock Field House in Countdown to Wheelchair Rugby Final


Jaguar Land Rover announced WWE Superstar, actor and reality television show host John Cena and actor Wilmer Valderrama as the captains of the celebrity exhibition of wheelchair rugby that will take place tonight, May 11, to celebrate the Invictus Games competitors.

The celebrity match will take place at the Field House in the ESPN complex, where the final of the high impact Wheelchair Rugby competition will be decided later this evening after semi-final matches earlier in the day.

The Exhibition is a friendly match that showcases the abilities of the wheelchair rugby exhibition match players against some of their favorite celebrities and athletes.

Additional celebrity participants in the Jaguar Land Rover Rugby Exhibition Match will include NFL football player Eric Decker, professional dancer Derek Hough, Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson and more.

Like coaches who often like to keep team lineups under wraps in the lead up to big matches, full details of the list of celebrities who will take part in the exhibition have not yet been released.

Speculation is building about who will be included in full celebrity line up.

The Invictus Games Orlando 2016 has attracted widespread interest in Florida and across the United States as well as 14 participating nations. Other dignitaries and celebrities attending the Games, include First Lady Michelle Obama; Dr. Jill Biden; Vice President Joe Biden, Olympic and world swimming champion Ian Thorpe; British Olympic track & field world champion Christine Ohuruogu; professional golfer Lydia Ko; NFL players Andrew Hawkins and Andrew East; former professional football player Max Starks and former NBA player Kurt Thomas; former U.S. Army soldier and motivational speaker Noah Galloway; Canadian-American actor, author, producer, and activist Michael J. Fox; American actor, director, and musician Gary Sinise and Academy Award winning actor Morgan Freeman.

Vocal performances at the Games included British singing sensations Laura Wright and James Blunt; and will feature international pop-star Rachel Platten, best-selling vocal group Rascal Flatts, American Idol winner Phillip Phillips, hip-hop star Flo Rida, “The Voice” winner Jordan Smith; and the first nationally recognized wounded warrior band Vetted.
