ABC WFTV9 – Brett Parks Discusses Invictus Games
Brett Parks (ret.), an Airman from the United States Navy, discusses in this ABC WFTV9 interview his participation in Invictus Games 2016 and what adaptive sports have done for him. Mr. Parks will be competing in the Sitting Volleyball competition.
ABC WFTV9 highlights “the games give some wounded men and women a reason to keep living. Like Olympians, they play for their country and are once again able to serve the nation they swore to protect”.
“We lose 22 veterans a day to suicide. Twenty-two veterans and if they only knew there’s something else out there, you still have a purpose, you have a chance to serve, I think that number would be greatly reduced,” said Navy veteran Brett Parks.
