Results for Track and Field at Invictus Games 2016Match Update:  Track and Field

After a captivating first day of medal rounds on Monday, Invictus Games Orlando 2016, powers along to one of the most action-packed events of the entire week: Track and Field and competition is about to be underway.

With 288 medals on the line in today’s session, fans will be treated to 40 different events featuring the world’s best veteran and active-duty runners, discus throwers and shot put hurlers. The competition will feature the 100-meter dash, 200-meter, 400-meter, 1500-meter races and mixed 4×100 relays, as well as both, sitting and standing discus and shot put, with multiple heats based on injury level.

The gold medal remains the goal of everyone, including USA’s Michael McPhall, who was out on the track early this morning warming up in his custom wheelchair. He knows it’s going to take a maximum effort and incredible focus to beat this field, but he says that adaptive sports have given him the will to fight on.

“[Adaptive sports] have just been great for my recovery, just getting me out and doing stuff instead of moping around and feeling sorry for myself,” said McPhall. “It’s gotten me out there, doing more than I did when I was 100% so it’s awesome.”
